Tiny Rooster
A quick project for those that love their chickens. A great opportunity to use up black and white textured wool. The pattern could be adapted to a stool top. 8″x10″.
Linen @ $38 + S/H
French Hen
A more refined bird. She has pedigree with her very exacting description on the pattern. Again, could be used as the top for a stool. 11″x14″oval.
Linen @ $40 + S/H
Birds with Berries
One of my most popular bird designs. A super project for beginning hookers. I have two stools in different color schemes with this pattern. 11″x14″.

Kitchen Crow
A very excellent beginners project. Works up well with a blackbird and a cranberry red background. Use as a pad for your hot casseroles. Hooked by Gayle Joehl. 9″ sq.

Small Valentine
A great gift for that someone special for Valentine’s Day or as a wedding gift. I envision the bird as a light colored dove. See the following pattern, ‘Be My Valentine’ for a larger rug version of this design. Hooked by Jennifer McKelvie. 15″x18″.
Linen @ $38 + S/H
Be My Valentine
I have hooked this piece as a wedding rug. The large heart in the middle can hold initials or a date. Hook in the special colors of the bride and groom. 16″x34″.
Linen @ $58 + S/H
Ladybug & Chicks
This is a fun rug to hook for spring. The baby chicks suggest Easter and the tiny lady bug is a friendly addition. Could be used as a table mat or as a top to a narrow footstool. Hooked by Pat Chambers. 11″x32″.
Linen @ $55 + S/H
Flight of the Swallows
In the summer at dusk you can see the barn swallows swooping and diving for insects before darkness hits. In the daylight you see their dark, rich colors….antique blue-black and a garnet breast. 13.5″x37.5″.
Linen @ $60 + S/H
Henny Penny
A very silly looking hen on her nest. The inspiration for this design was a Mexican wood carving that featured a magenta colored chicken. Her nest suggests a cache of french fries! Hooked by Paula Cole. 18.25″x21.25″.
Linen @ $50 + S/H
Winterbird
There is a verse about Robin Red-breast at Christmas time. This rug portrays that scene with its holly leaves with berries and its gentle bird. Softly dyed reds could be used on the bird’s breast. In this mat a cardinal has replaced the original robin. Hooked by Romie Orr. 26″x30″.
Linen @ $68 + S/H
Tropical Birds
I have always loved the molas designed by the Cuna Indians of Panama. This rug is an adaptation of one of those textile marvels. A dark background would high-light the bright birds in their jungle environment. 26.5″x32″.
Linen @ $60 + S/H
Owl in the Star Tree
Inspired by an antique book plate, this night owl is framed by twigs featuring stars. A great environment for a nocturnal creature. The scalloped border suggests the sky above. 12.5″x35.5″ half round.
Linen @ $65 + S/H
Sing-a-Song
I always loved the old verse about the “birds that were baked in a pie.” A light-hearted version of that poem. Looks great with a cranberry red background. Hooked by Gayle Joehl. 26″x35″.
Linen @ $72 + S/H
Birdhouse
Our favorite birds in the summer are the bluebirds. Our cottage features a white fence and lots of birdhouses on the property. The female bluebirds always have a hard time choosing between the different dwellings. Swallows and wrens inhabit the left-overs. 25″x30″.
Linen @ $70 + S/H
Crows in a Row
A road trip through the corn fields of Iowa inspired this design. A fence along the freeway with three perfectly spaced blackbirds had me drawing this rug. The avians also enjoy the sunflowers that grace the narrow stripe of border. Hooked by Gladys Sutton. 21″x48″.
Linen @ $75 + S/H
Mother Loon
This rug is based on a canoe journey I took in northern MN on a windy day. It was the only time I observed a baby loon riding on its mother’s back. The loon is MN’s state bird. The stars in the corner represent our state motto, “star of the north.” 34″x44″.
Linen @ $98 + S/H
Fireside Roosters
An adaptation of an antique rug. It always looks to me like the roosters are exchanging their experiences of the day. A good opportunity for “antique colors.” 27″x36″. This rug was hooked by Janice Lee of Nebraska.
Linen @ $70 + S/H
Coq Au Vin
An adaptation of an antique rug from Canada. Very primitive-looking. The background has a natural space for initials or for a year. Hooked by Dina Tourcotte. 24″x30″.
Linen @ $60 + S/H
Horned Owl
Another great owl design. Beautifully hooked by Cathy McQuinn. 12″x14″.

Birds of a Feather
A great message rug for those hookers that love birds. 26″x38″.

Bluebirds & Baskets
My favorite birds are bluebirds..it must be because of their beautiful colors. Inspired by an antique porcelain plate. The two ends of the rug are curved for a graceful feel. 21″x52.5″

Birds & Star Stair Tread
One of two new stair tread patterns. Maybe used as companion pieces or repeated many times. 10″x28″.
